2009 MAVIC
Netural Support
Part Diary,
Part Technical Manual, Part Tips & Tricks

Many years ago I had a gorgeous MAVIC Neutral Support and I don't recall why I sold it. But last night I was listening to music and browsing the web when I came across another one for sale on eBay. I put in a bid and I went to bed and when I woke up on the morning of October 1, 2025, apparently I was the owner of another one! Unlike my previous 54 cm, this was a 56 cm, which is typically my preferred size, but I do remember that 54 cm fit me really good as well. So for over ten years after I sold my first one, I have one coming from Utah.
10/3/2025 - The bike showed up really quick and it was packed with the most protection and care I have ever seen. After I took off all the padding, I put the bike together revealing a really nice bike that hasn't been used in a long time, lots of dust and a few small chips in the paint. I took it out for a quick spin and it works flawlessly, all I had to do was adjust the headset and the front brake. Overall I'm very pleased with the condition of the bike and it will clean up nicely. I think the 2009 paint scheme is nice, with just two decals on the top tube, the rest of it solid yellow, the fork is yellow too - very clean. I also like how all the Cannondale stickers are on the inside of the fork and chainstays.
10/8/2025 - I installed new LOOK pedals and Michelin tires, using the orignal MAVIC tubes. I just ordered the same stem in 100mm and the same crankset, but in compact and 170mm length. I happen to have a matching FSA Energy handlebar in 40cm already, so that'll match perfectly. This shoud be it for the bike to fit me well.
11/8/2025 - I spent the afternoon finishing the build, getting all the shifter and brake cables and adjusting everything. The new SRAM Force crankset I bought had the later style black chainrings, since I can be so OCD, I was able to find a clean set of the previous generation grey chainrings. The bike turned out really beautiful, so pleased to have another MAVIC Neutral Support bike!
